Family: Titanoecidae (Rock Weavers)
This family is represented in Europe with 16 species in 3 genera (van Helsdingen, 2009; Platnick, 2009). European genera (number of species in parenthesis): Nurscia (3), Pandava (1), Titanoeca (12).
Genus: Nurscia Simon, 1874
Biology: I am sorry that I have been showing images of misidentified species formerly. Thanks to Anton A. Nodolny these errors have now been corrected.
Characters of genus: Consult Nadolny & Kovblyuk (2010). Differentiation of Nurscia albomaculata and N. albosignata (Araneae: Titanoecidae): two sibling and sympatric species from Crimea, Ukraine (Book of Abstracts, 18th International Congress of Arachnology, Siedlce, Poland and poster with drawings of copulatory organs of both N. albomaculata and N. albosignata).
There are 3 European species (van Helsdingen, 2009; Platnick, 2009): Nurscia albomaculata, N. albosignata, N. sequerai.
Nurscia albomaculata (Lucas, 1846)
Description: Female epigyne with parallel edges of median epigynal plate. Male palp shorter than carapace. Range: Bulgaria, France (Corsica), France (Mainland), Germany, Greece (Crete), Greece (Dodecanese Islands), Greece (Mainland), Italy (Mainland), Italy (Sardinia), Macedonia, Malta, Portugal (Mainland), Romania, Russia (Southern European), Spain (Balearic Islands), Spain (Mainland), Ukraine (van Helsdingen 2009.1). Global range: Europe to Central Asia (Platnick 10.0).

Description: Female epigyne with curved edges of median epigynal plate which is wider posteriorly. Male palp longer than carapace. Range: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece (Mainland), Ukraine (van Helsdingen 2009.1). Global range: Bulgaria, Cyprus to Central Asia (Platnick 10.0).
