This family is represented in Europe with 10 species in one genus (van Helsdingen, 2009; Platnick, 2009). European genus (number of species in parenthesis): Scytodes (10).

There are 10 European species (van Helsdingen, 2009; Platnick, 2009): Scytodes bertheloti, S. canariensis, S. fusca, S. immaculata, S. ruficeps (nomen dubium), S. tenerifensis, S. thoracica, S. univittata, S. velutina, S. venusta.
